CNC EDM centre frees up skills for toolmaking
To concentrate on plastics mould toolmaking and prototyping, and free toolmakers from routine machining, Algram has acquired an Ingersoll Center 4000 robotised EDM from Mitsubishi EDM.
To achieve such high acceleration values, the machine's ram is fabricated from carbon fibre material.
Accuracy is ensured by a complex control system, which enables thermal stability of the machine.
Cooling the dielectric fluid as well as the linear drives suppress temperature fluctuation.
As well as achieving improved straightness, in corner radii less than 30 microns can be machined.
MA2000 specifications include a 650 X 500 X 340mm worktank, axes travels of 400 X 300 X 300mm and a maximum machining head load of 50kg.
Maximum table load is 500kg.
The machine is equipped with an automatic tool changer and 20 positions for storing tools.
Control is 64bit, Fuzzy-Logic CNC-Dialog unit.
The Nanopuls generator has a maximum working current of 70A and is integrated with a mirror-finish generator.
