share
Machine tool sales are holding up well at Leamington-based Mills Manufacturing Technology, despite difficult trading conditions.
Machine tool sales are holding up well at Leamington-based Mills Manufacturing Technology, despite difficult trading conditions Fifty machines were ordered during the first three months of 2003, following a lean 2002 which nevertheless saw the company increase market share for the sixth successive year
Managing director, Mike Jenkins, puts this success down to the strength of the Daewoo and Nakamura Tome brands as well as the benefits of moving the business from Norwich to the West Midlands.
As a result of the relocation, there has been a significantly higher level of ongoing showroom visits by potential customers and increased attendance at open house exhibitions.
This year's orders have come from diverse industries including defence, railway subcontracting, medical and automotive.
There is also a welcome sign, according to Mike Jenkins, of aerospace business returning.
