Mills to concentrate CNC turning sales on Daewoo

A Mills Manufacturing Technology product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Apr 12, 2004

Mills Manufacturing Technology has announced that it will concentrate its sales efforts mainly on products from Daewoo Machine Tools. A new agent is sought for Nakamura CNC turning centres.

Mills Manufacturing Technology, Leamington Spa, announced that as from the 1st April 2004 it will concentrate its sales efforts mainly on products from Daewoo Machine Tools.

The Korean manufacturer has been represented in the UK by Mills for more than 20 years, making it the longest established dealer for Daewoo products in the world.

The recent introduction of multi-axis twin-spindle turning and mill/turn centres from Daewoo means that the portfolio of over 120 different CNC machines on offer from this builder now allows Mills to satisfy the turning requirements of its customers through one major manufacturer.

Many of the new machines recently launched by Daewoo, including the TT2500SY 8-axis twin spindle CNC turning centre and the MX2500SY 9-axis twin-spindle CNC mill/turn centre, will be demonstrated at the DIMF EUROPA Show at Mills' Leamington Spa showrooms, 20th to 22nd April 2004.

The show will be opened by W B Kim, Chief Executive of Daewoo Machine Tools.

Engineers from both Mills and Daewoo have been working closely to ensure the smooth introduction of these and other new, high technology products destined for the UK market.

This culminated in Mills being presented with the 'High Technology Dealer of the Year' award at the EMO Show in Milan.

The existing relationships that Mills has with Japanese prismatic machining equipment suppliers, Kuraki and OM, will continue.

However, Mills has decided not to renew its agency agreement with multi-axis lathe Nakamura, Japan, as its product range conflicts with Daewoo's expanded turning machine programme.

Mills will continue to support Nakamura customers until a new dealer has been appointed.
