CNC turning centre has high performance
Many of 12 Doosan CNC machine tools to be shown at MACH 2008 will be vierwed for the first time in the UK and include a high performance turning centre.
Mills Manufacturing Technology, exclusive dealer of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland, has recently reported record sales (GBP 35 million turnover equating to 335 machine sold, in 2007) - and is using the UK's MACH 2008 exhibition to show the very latest advanced Doosan machine tools to the UK market Mills' managing director, Mike Jenkins, said: "We've booked a big stand at MACH (our biggest ever at 26m x 15m) and will be exhibiting 12 machines in total

Machining times cut by three-quarters
It used to take Watford-based Parker Hannifin 30 minutes to machine both ends of complex cylinder rods. The same job is now done in seven minutes in a Nakamura Tome TW-20, twin-turret lathe.
Two opposing twin-turret lathes are in one
One of the most capable mill-turning machines ever built, has four turrets, two spindles and offers a total of 13 computer controlled axes.
The technology on show reflects the strength and diversity of the Doosan brand and the high demand for Doosan machine tools.
Many of the machines will be making their UK debuts at MACH".
The machines being exhibited are as follows.

The 280M has a powerful 22kW spindle (3,500 rev/min), 10-station turret and has 76mm bar diameter working capacity and a 10in chuck.
* Puma 400MB - the Puma 400MB is a large and powerful turning centre that provides users with high metal removal rates and 7.5kW milling capability.
The machine has a 550mm diameter turning capacity, 116.5mm bar capacity and a heavy-duty 30kW 2,000 rev/min main spindle.
* Puma 700LM - shown for the first time at MACH, Doosan's large size, big capacity lathes are offered to precision manufacturers operating in the oil/gas, automotive and power generation sectors.
The 700LM machine is powerful and delivers fast removal rates, rapid positioning and high-speed turret indexing capability.
The machine has a 45kW 1500 rev/min spindle, a 12-station turret and a bar working diameter of 164mm and up to 30in chuck.
* VT 1100: Vertical Turning Lathe - shown for the first time at MACH, the VT 1100 machine is built for high-precision part manufacture and is especially aimed at manufacturers machining heavy and awkward-shape workpieces, large diameter ring-type applications used in aerospace applications and/or high-volume automotive parts (disks, drums, fly wheels, etc).
The machine has a chuck capacity up to 1000mm diameter, a turning diameter of 1100mm and 1000mm capacity in its Z-axis.
The VT 1100 is equipped with a powerful 60kW 850 rev/min spindle, 20m/min rapid feeds (X- and Z-axis) and 12-station turret (0.25s indexing) with three-piece Curvic coupling for increased rigidity.
* Puma 480L: High-performance Turning Centre - shown for the first time at MACH, the Puma 480L is another high-performance machine from the Doosan range.
