MIDEST to host 700 foreign
subcontractors

Almost 700 foreign subcontractors will take stand space at the French MIDEST subcontracting exhibition, including increasing numbers from North Africa as well as Eastern Europe.

The MIDEST exhibition to be held in Paris, France, during November 13-16, 2007, will host almost 700 foreign subcontractors from over 30 countries Visitors are expected from over 60 countries to review the manufacturing services and capacity on show

Large-scale publicity campaigns to promote MIDEST in Europe are being run in leading OEM markets in Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Spain and Germany by the organisers, Reed Expositions France.

From France, subcontractors from 18 regions will be present.

Among foreign exhibitors will be India - returning after four years - and Singapore, while Taiwan as increased its exhibition stand size by 50%.

A 'North Africa Day' will support the increasing presence of exhibitors from Morocco, Tunisia and Algiers.

From Eastern Europe, latest EU members Romania and Bulgaria will have pavilions.

The largest foreign presence continues to be Italy, represented by some 120 subcontractors.

* Specialist subcontracting sectors - MIDEST said it continues to be the show for SME (small and medium sized enterprises) subcontractors and it will be expanding its theme of 'Villages'.

As well as the established Foundry and Surface Treatment Villages, these will include Plastics Industry, Shaping Metals, Machining and Special Machines.

During the show, experts from CETIM will man the Technology centre and will present 30h of conferences on subcontractors' technical developments.

Buyers from the CDAF will attend a 'round table' event dedicated to aerospace subcontracting.

* Parallel shows - MIDEST is being run in conjunction with Maintenance EXPO and TOLEXPO.

The former show is in partnership with the French Association of Maintenance Engineers.

The latter show specialises in the working of metals sheet, tube and sections.
