Profile milling cutters offer unifom quality

A Mikron Tool SA Agno product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jul 13, 2007

Profile milling cutters use logarithmic relief grinding to guarantee a uniform cut quality and identical profile even in case of multiple regrinding.

Mikron Tool SA Agno is offering a top quality customised profile cutter.

It covers the range 5-160mm (outside diameter) at widths of less than 1-20mm.

The diversity of the profiles are unlimited: convex, concave, rounded or angled, straight or spiral-toothed or even a combination of all.

Mikron Tool said every shape is possible - even very complex ones.

The logarithmic relief grinding (constant profile) is a big advantage, which is highly recommended for milling cutters subjected to large wear such as in the case of high volume series production.

It guarantees a uniform cut quality and identical profile even in case of multiple regrinding.

It therefore increases the cost effectiveness of the tool.

The manufacturing quality is also very striking: Mikron Tool guarantees a tolerance of +/-0.01 mm for functional profiles.

The precision can be increased to +/-0.005mm.

The fact that the tolerance here is related not only to the individual teeth but to the sum of overall deviations of all teeth is what makes the quality even more novel.

Customer specific geometrical layouts, combined with the right coating make the cutter suitable for all materials.

The new milling range also covers end mills and is used in a wide range of applications, e g, for the medical and watch industries, for automotive parts, key and lock manufacturing and also for spectacle hinges, electric/electronic parts and fittings.

Special cutters such as micro, prismatic, shaping and T-groove cutters for machining a wide variety of materials complete the product range.
