Motion Drives and Controls has been appointed as the exclusive UK distributor of Marzorati Trasmissioni's complete range of gearboxes, phasing units, screw jacks and clutch/brake units.

Marzorati Trasmissioni, the Italian power transmission systems manufacturer, has appointed Warwick-based Motion Drives and Controls as the exclusive UK distributor of its complete range of gearboxes, phasing units, screw jacks and clutch/brake units.

Marzorati are a very well established Milan based company with over 70 years experience as a precision manufacturer with a strong emphasis on production innovation, quality and reliability.

For many years they developed and manufactured products for Italian and German gearbox manufacturers but now produce under their own brand.

Consequently, the range includes very competitively priced, form-fit-function equivalents for right angle gearboxes, phase shifting gearboxes, and clutch/brake units from market leading manufacturers that are extensively used in the converting and processing industries.

Marzorati also manufacture specialist gearbox products including its stainless-steel housed TK range which is aimed at food manufacturing, liquid packaging, chemical and pharmaceutical production applications and other industries where frequent washdown and corrosive environments would shorten the life of standard gearboxes.

The Marzorati gearbox range includes cast iron and aluminium housed, right-angle bevel gearboxes with power ratings from 0.33 kW to over 100 kW in standard ratio's to 4:1 and torque ratings to 3000 Nm.

A wide choice of standard input/output configurations, shaft or flange mounted motor options, and multiple output shaft versions are offered.

Step-up gear ratio versions to 1:2 and custom build gearboxes to match exact mounting and mechanical specifications are also available.

The heavy duty, cast iron RA 2000 series includes hollow output shaft options and its low backlash precision design is well suited to long life, low noise applications.

The versatile square faced NRA/MEC range has tapped holes on all six sides to allow extremely flexible mounting capability and a wide choice of standard flanges are available to accommodate IEC and NEMA motor interfacing.

Based upon the RA 2000 and NRA/MEC gearbox housing styles, a range of phase shifting units are available with matched worm gear and bevel gears for single, coaxial and two phase coaxial phasing.

These gearboxes are used extensively in web and sheet processing for simple but precise machine and register synchronisation.

The NCV range of manually operated in-line speed change gearboxes is also available.

Marzorati also produce screw jacks in three ranges.

The SJM series can provide up to 6 m of vertical travel for loads up to 200 kN and the heavy duty MAR range has up to 1000 kN load capability.

The RMV "Speed Jack" range provides fast high-speed vertical positioning.

Complementing and completing its extensive range of power transmission products, Marzorati manufacture an extensive offering of clutch and brake products covering electromagnetic tooth clutches, and multi-disc clutch/brakes, pole faced friction clutched and brakes, eddy current induction couplings and brakes, electromagnetic spring applied brakes and torque limiiting multi-disc clutches.

The range extends to torque ratings up to 10 000 Nm.
