Malvern Instruments has appointed Laurent Lachmanski to the newly established position of European Sales Manager for the company's range of vision systems.

Malvern Instruments has appointed Laurent Lachmanski to the newly established position of European Sales Manager for the company's range of vision systems.

The establishment of this new post follows Malvern's recent acquisition of the technology and manufacturing rights for the PharmaVision 830 - one of the key systems in the range.

It effectively adds imaging and image analysis to Malvern Instruments' core technologies at a time of significant growth in the vision system market.

Laurent will be based in the Malvern France office in Paris and moves into his new role following five highly successful years as one of Malvern's sales and technical support territory managers.

He will be responsible for Vision System sales across Europe, working with both the Malvern direct-sales offices and distributor network.

In addition to the PharmaVision 830 for the automated analysis of particle shape and size in dry powders, the Vision Systems range includes the FPIA-2100 for the analysis of wet samples.

The PharmaVision 830 is expected to play a key role in helping pharmaceutical companies meet the demands of the FDA's new PAT (Process Analytical Technologies) initiative.
