Laser Diffraction-Based Particle Size Analyzer

A Malvern Instruments product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jun 9, 2004

The new Mastersizer 2000E is designed as an entry-level system for customers who do not immediately require the full Mastersizer 2000 specification, but who would like the option to upgrade.

Malvern Instruments has launched a new laser diffraction-based particle size analyzer that adds to its Mastersizer 2000 range.

The new Mastersizer 2000E is designed as an entry-level system for customers who do not immediately require the full Mastersizer 2000 specification, but who would like the option to upgrade as their needs develop.

It has applications wherever particle size analysis is performed, and is expected to meet specific requirements in sectors such as bulk materials production and in the academic arena.

The Mastersizer 2000E measures particle size from 0.1 to 1000 microns without the need for any changes to the optical configuration.

A range of semi-automated sample dispersion accessories covers the analysis of a wide variety of sample types, both wet and dry.

A key feature of the Mastersizer 2000 is its SOP-driven (standard operating procedure) operation and the Mastersizer 2000E benefits from similar SOP support and method definition.

The system is upgradeable to the full Mastersizer 2000 specification, a process that can be carried out on-site at any time.
