Malvern Instruments has entered into a collaborative agreement with industrial process optimisation specialist SDTech.

Under the terms of the agreement, Malvern's Insitec Voyager mobile online particle size analyser will be used both in SDTech's in-house test facility and also on customer sites as part of the company's consultancy process.

Malvern process specialists will supply technical and applications expertise, working closely with the SDTech team.

As a result, clients using these services will have full access to specialists in milling and particle size analysis.

The Malvern Insitec Voyager is a laser diffraction-based particle size analyser for dry streams with particles between the sizes of 0.1 microns and 1,000 microns.

It is designed specifically for mobile particle size analysis within the process environment.

It is claimed to be suitable for production facilities with multiple lines and for commissioning, optimisation and troubleshooting applications.

Measuring particle size up to four times per second, Insitec Voyager is said to provide a continuous stream of real-time data for optimal control and understanding.

SDTech, based in Ales, France, works primarily in custom micronisation and the analysis of fine and ultra-fine powders.

It also delivers Process Expert services to a number of different industries.
