Maxcor acquires Ex-Cell-O machine tool
company
The German Industrie-Werke Karlsruhe has announced the sale of machine tool builder Ex-Cell-O Group to Maxcor, USA, a privately held investment and operating firm.

Maxcor has divided its machine tool businesses into four groups: * Powertrain Technologies - CrossHueller Lamb, which includes Hessapp, Witzig und Frank and portions of Hueller Hille.
* Blue technologies - commodity machine tools from Fadal and the UK plant of Cincinnati Machine (machining centres).
* Cincinnati Technologies - aerospace machining machine tools and systems, as well as tape-layer machines from Cincinnati Machine US, Giddings and Lewis and CL Automation.
* Maintenance technologies - built around the former US company Cincinnati Plus spare parts and consumables business.
'Metalworking Insiders' Report' December 30 issue includes stories concerning Tecno Wasino in Thailand, Mitsubishi EDM in China, the Okuma/Okuma and Howa merger and its effects - as well as short items on general company news.
