low-cost
Low-cost data acquisition modules provide outstanding temperature measurement flexibility and convenience, allowing installation without the need for a dedicated PC or laptop.
The new USB-5201 and USB-5203 modules from Measurement Computing, the market leader in low-cost data acquisition, provide outstanding temperature measurement flexibility and convenience, allowing installation wherever temperature measurement is needed - without the need for a dedicated PC or laptop According to Marc Marini, Measurement Computing's general manager, "Customers purchasing our USB-TEMP and USB-TC devices tell us that they love the performance of the product, but in some situations could not dedicate a computer to the measurement

USB-based DAQ modules catalogue
Measurement Computing Corporation has released its new "USB-based DAQ" catalogue, which describes the Personal Measurement and Measurement Advantage series DAQ modules.
These devices provide the perfect solution they offer the same live temperature monitoring capabilities as the USB-TEMP and TC products, but can record the data to a removable CF card." The USB-5203 logs data from thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors, and semiconductor temperature sensors, while the USB-5201 logs data from thermocouples only.
Both units log data to industry standard CompactFlash (CF) cards.
These new modules are ideal for remote or stand-alone applications requiring temperature measurement where the use of a dedicated PC or laptop is not feasible.
Both of the devices provide user configurable temperature alarms for control of eight digital output lines.
USB-5201 and USB-5203 come with a 64-MB CF card, which can store approximately 2,350,000 time-stamped temperature values from a single channel.
CompactFlash cards up to 2 GB in size are supported.
Data can be retrieved either by connecting the device to a computer via a standard USB cable (provided), or by placing the removable CF card into any standard CF card reader.
The devices are also bundled with a power supply and the following software: * TracerDAQ, an industry-leading software package that provides easy data management and analysis.
TracerDAQ converts and saves temperature and alarm data to standard, comma-delimited .CSV or text files.
TracerDAQ also plots and analyses real-time data or historical temperature files.
* InstaCal, an all-in-one installation, logger setup, calibration, and test application.
InstaCal makes setting up and retrieving data from the logger as simple as a few quick mouse clicks.
* Universal Library and UL for LabVIEW, powerful language interfaces that allow users to write programs in all of the popular programming languages using easy-to-understand, high-level command syntax.
