An assembly automation, material handling and transportation equipment manufacturer, MagneMotion, has appointed Peter Mattila as vice president of sales and marketing.

MagneMotion, a developer and manufacturer of assembly automation, material handling and transportation solutions using electro-magnetic technology, today announced that it has named Peter Mattila vice president of sales and marketing.

Mattila is returning to MagneMotion, where he previously served for five years as the director of business development and helped the company establish product opportunities with leading industrial players.

He will lead MagneMotion's marketing and business initiatives, including developing key partnerships to further drive the company's growth.

"MagneMotion is a leader in developing Linear Synchronous Motor (LSM) and Maglev technology, which enables manufacturers and transportation system operators to improve efficiency, reduce mechanical dependencies and overall cost," said Todd Webber, co-founder and president of MagneMotion.

"Pete is rejoining the company at a critical point of growth and his sales and engineering background are ideally suited to MagneMotion's need to further build our momentum with key constituencies." Mattila brings more than 25 years of experience in the electronics, electro-magnetic, and power generation industries with a focus on motor and generator technology development.

His engineering, marketing and business leadership roles at various manufacturing and industrial companies will serve as an asset to MagneMotion as it further expands its business in key industries including material handling, assembly automation and transportation.

Mattila most recently served as business development manager at Northern Power Systems, where he led the company's wind energy business by concentrating on the application of permanent magnet generator technology to wind turbines.

Prior to his previous tenure at MagneMotion, Mattila headed the marketing initiative at QuadTech, expanding the company's sales opportunities, establishing brand recognition and developing product rollout strategies for its line of precision meters, instruments and electrical safety test products.

Mattila previously held marketing management and engineering roles at Kaman Electromagnetics Corporation and EPM.

"I am very excited to return to MagneMotion to work with such a talented team of engineers to further drive the company's worldwide growth," said Mattila.

"Our products and electro-magnetic solutions offer customers unparalleled capabilities in the transportation, assembly automation and material handling industries, and I look forward to using my technical and business background to help fuel its continued success.".
