"MachinePoint team found the entire show to be very disappointing" is the general feeling expressed by MachinePoint attendees at Interplas 2002, though they did some business there too.

"MachinePoint team found the entire show to be very disappointing" is the general feeling from MachinePoint attendees at Interplas 2002 "Compared to previous Interplas shows the attendance was noticeably lower, and the ratio of decision makers to general visitors also appeared to be down

The practice of allowing visitors from the Nepcon show to visit Interplas appears to be a slightly cynical way of increasing attendance figures.

" Mark Lees, Engineering Manager at MachinePoint continues: "I can quite understand the views of companies who have taken the decision not to exhibit in the future.

As a show I do not think that Interplas offers value for money, and when compared to other shows (such as K or NPE), is very expensive to attend for exhibitors.

Many exhibitors also feel trapped into attending - if they don't exhibit, then potential customers may think they have become another company who has ceased trading.

This is a generally unhealthy position to be in, and I applaud Husky in their public decision not to exhibit in the future" However, the show ended with a few good deals for MachinePoint, who also opened new partnerships and renegotiated collaboration agreements with first class UK machinery agents and manufacturers.

Geographically 56% of the used machinery demand for MachinePoint came from the UK and 9% from Ireland followed by 4% from Nigeria and 3% from Jordan.

According to MachinePoint figures, first class machinery offers keep coming from the UK market, but demand concentrates more in small machinery.

Hence, second hand machinery supply is stronger in Injection Moulding (40%), Film (26%), and Extrusion (17%), while second hand machinery demand proves very strong in Injection Moulding (28%), Extrusion (23%), Film (13%) and recycling (12%).

This figures show that the most dynamic markets are injection moulding, film and extrusion.

"In relative terms injection moulders, film manufacturers and thermoforming processors are suffering the consequences of the weak economic situation more than the average companies in the plastics sector - says C?sar Rodriguez, President and CEO at MachinePoint.

PVC processing machinery is pressing the market, and recycling shows a very strong demand compared to the current size of the recycling market.

MachinePoint has been approached to provide consulting services in recycling by many international customers" About MachinePoint - MachinePoint is a UK registered trading company and a world leader in used industrial equipment.
