Maxatec has formed a partnership to distribute Imaje's high-volume, Compact, Direct Thermal and the Nova thermal transfer label printers.

Maxatec has formed a partnership to distribute Imaje's high-volume, Compact, Direct Thermal and the Nova thermal transfer label printers.

The range is said to be robust for high volume printing in challenging environments and is claimed to rival the performance of 'big-box' printers - yet their size is comparable to small desktop printers.

Maxatec and Imaje have the aim of providing customers with reliable systems that offer the best value in the market today.

They are ultra-reliable with a large installed base in warehousing and logistics." The Compact desktop printers that are claimed to be flexible, with a wide range of unique features and options.

The heavy-duty, small Compact Series is suitable for restricted spaces, high volume and on-demand printing of labels, tickets and tags.

Built-in features include integration with mainframe and ERP systems, control of and communication with peripherals, such as weigh scales and conveyor belt sensors directly from the printer and PC-free printing to cut cost and increase production uptime without risk for PC viruses.

In addition, they are claimed to provide a fast print cycle, whilst having a web server and built-in set-up program to eliminate operator adjustments, together with software support tools, flexible options, such as cutters, peel rewind, label take sensor, stacking and wall-mount kits, RFID version.

The printers have an all-metal construction and what is claimed to be the smallest footprint in their class, whilst being free standing, or they can be truck, tower wall mounted.

They have a straight paper path for quick and easy label loading without the need to open the printer, with quick release print head and roller, a configurable front button for label feed, repeat print or label dispense and a non-stick, label resistant surface for clean appearance.

Imaje also claimed that they have a fast print speed up to five inches per second (125mm per second) and they have a four-inch (104mm) print width.
