A MacDermid product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team May 15, 2006

A synthetic carbide grinding fluid - with long sump life and excellent corrosion protection - has gained the approval of CNC grinding machine builder, Jones and Shipman International.

Relubro SM27AL recently gained the approval of Jones and Shipman International the UK's leading Grinding Machine manufacturer.

This product leads the market as a fully synthetic carbide grinding fluid.

This fluid is unsurpassed in its very low tendency to leach cobalt; this allows the user to take full advantage of the long sump life that this coolant provides.

During customer trials Relubro SM27AL solutions were shown to have excellent corrosion protection, good detergency, low foaming, and provides excellent visibility during the grinding operation.

Skin irritation issues in the UK are increasing and dermatitis is a problem that many operators of machine tools and CNC machines have suffered with.

This problem cannot be totally removed by using materials that are not labeled as irritant, however companies can show that they are minimising the risks as much as possible by lowering the use of products that are irritants.

In the past this may have meant compromising on machine tool life or cutting performance this no longer needs to be the case with the Relubro range of products.
