David Cockayne, has resumed his role as Managing Director of Modular Automation, the company he founded 27 years ago.
The change took place after a recent management reshuffle.
In a recent interview, David explained that the opportunities available for assembly automation in the 21st century required an enlightened approach with a greater focus on innovation than had been the case in recent years.
He explained that as industry strives for better products and greater variation in design, so companies increasingly need high-speed, high technology, flexible assembly systems.
"We must use our skills not just to service our traditional markets but to explore new opportunities throughout industry," he said.
He added that the company has already identified a number of new applications in the food and telecommunications industries and has successfully demonstrated its ability in the chemical and pharmaceutical sector.
David also said that he planned to empower his management teams more than had been possible in the past giving them greater responsibility and autonomy to develop the company and their role within it.
"The atmosphere is changing here," he said, "the staff and the customers have already noticed the difference." Modular Automation specialises in the design, production and commissioning of automatic assembly systems.
It's engineering ability and attention to detail are appreciated by its customers throughout all market sectors.
