Injection moulders get process monitoring
Leading supplier of software tools for simulating plastic moulding processes, Moldflow, is expanding its remit into data collection, process control and monitoring.
The stand displays and presentations will focus on the company's design optimisation tools Moldflow Plastics Advisers (MPA) and Moldflow Plastics Insight (MPI).
These have been developed for part and mould designers who want to check manufacturing feasibility prior to committing to tooling.
They are also used by CAE analysts who need detailed predictions about all the phases of part and mould design, including part quality.
In addition, visitors will be able to try out the new Version 3 Moldflow STL Expert, a powerful tool for viewing, measuring, refining and correcting solid surface models imported from popular CAD/CAM/CAE systems.
It produces high quality stereolithography (STL) models, which can then be used for MPA and MPI analyses, or any other application that uses STL as input.
The busy stand will also feature the manufacturing aids Moldflow Plastics Xpert, Shotscope and EZ-Track, which target the problems associated with production planning and scheduling, injection moulding machine setup, process optimisation and process monitoring control.
Moldflow is in Hall 3 on Stand 3197 at Interplas, which is held at the NEC in Birmingham from 30 September to 4 October this year.
