Versartile HMI with built-in PLC programs easily
Moeller has has introduced a human machine interface (HMI) with built-in PLC functionality to give easy programming, excellent connectivity and an on-board web server.
As part of Moeller's commitment towards increasing the intelligence of its devices, the new NZM1, 2, 3 and 4 MCCB range is able to store and communicate short-term operational history when used in conjunction with a data management interface (DMI).
Communications capabilities are standard across the board in all MCCBs incorporating electronic release.
The DMI is connected to the circuit breaker via a simple plug-in connection.
When used in power distribution boards and systems, the DMI gives users the ability to access and transfer operational data to a central control system using open fieldbus interfaces, such as Profibus DP.
Data managed in this way can include information relating to malfunctions, maintenance and diagnostics.
This increased transparency of the system will reduce response times to critical states, such as over current, phase imbalance or phase failure.
Such rapid intervention can help avoid system breakdowns and allows preventive maintenance to be planned - increasing machine availability and avoiding costly downtime.
