assumed
From the 1st June 2006 Metrohm UK will assume the exclusive representation of the Applikon Analytical range of process and environmental equipment.
From the 1st June 2006 Metrohm UK will assume the exclusive representation of the Applikon Analytical range of process and environmental equipment Metrohm UK has exclusively represented the Metrohm range of products for nearly fifteen years in the UK and with the ever increasing commonality between hardware, software and methodology used in both Metrohm and Applikon Analytical instruments this business transfer is a logical step in the development of the Applikon Analytical brand to truly "bridge the gap between the process and the laboratory." One of the new Applikon on-line analysers is the" Alert" range for the monitoring of all types of water ie Drinking Water, Surface Water, Industrial Waste, Municipal Waste, Cooling Water Boiler Feed, Power Utility and High Purity Water

Process chemicals can be analysed on-line
Metrohm has combined the best aspects of laboratory and online systems to produce the 875 ProcessLab: a fully customised, automated at-line system for analytical testing.
Determining water levels in lubricating oils
It is impoirtant to determine the presence of water in machinery lubricating oils, which is why Metrohm is offering its 831 KF Coulometer to give reliable results over a long period.
There are principally two types of Alerts systems~ " Alert Ion Analyser" for measurements in ppm's and % levels and " Alert Colorimeter" for analysis in the ppb and ppm ranges.
The Alert Ion Analyser uses the unique Dynamic Standard Addition method for analysis which has been developed by Applikon to improve the accuracy and reliability of the ion specific electrodes (ISE's) The Alert Colorimeter readings are made by "Differential Absorbance Colorimetry" which automatically compensates for fouling of the cell and sample colour over a wide measuring range.
Alert on-line Analysers come complete, preconfigured and programmed for their specific applications.
They are also easy to maintain and reagent usage is low, with typically less than 2.5 litres per month doing 1000 analysis per day.
Powerful conditional actions can be performed in the case of unusual analytical results; no value, out of limit or range or unstable values can be used to prompt diagnostic, cleaning, calibration or change of analysis frequency.
Optional reagent level, sample present or leak detectors and other I/O signals for the sample preconditioning are available to further automate the system.
Typical On-line analysis for the Alert Ion Analyser is: Ammonia, Calcium, Chloride, Fluoride, Nitrate, Potassium and Sodium and for the Alert Colorimeter: Aluminium, Ammonia, Chlorine, Chromium, ClO2, Copper, Cyanide, Hydrazine, Iron, Manganese, Nickel, Nitrate, Nitrite, Phenol, Phosphate, Silica and Zinc.
