Free Seminars On Ion Chromatography and
Voltammetr

An invitation to the free Seminars/Workshop on : Ion Chromatography and Voltammetry on 5th October Carlisle Race Course, Carlisle and 7th October Thistle Hotel, Bristol.

An opportunity for all Ion Chromatography, AAS and Voltammetry users to improve their knowledge of Ion Chromatography and Voltammetry, from a theoretical and practical point of view Ion Chromatography :The presentations will focus on the theory of ion chromatography and some of the current instrumentation available along with method development and column flexibility to solve application requirements as well as a chance to view a running automated ion chromatography system and witness the maintenance required for its upkeep during the practical workshops

Voltammetry: Voltammetry is one of the fastest growing analytical techniques and offers a real alternative or complimentary tool to spectroscopy for heavy metal analysis due to its low cost and incomparable limits of detection per price of instrument.

For those concerned with ion speciation in analytes voltammetry is the method of choice.

The voltammetry lecture will detail the theory behind the technique and show the 797 VA Computrace - which can be viewed during the practical workshop - along with a synopsis of typical applications.

Practical Workshops Station 1 - Ion Chromatography with Inline Sample Preparation 761 Compact IC with the 788 Ultra-filtration Sample Processor for the analysis of anions.

Overview of IC Net Software Principles of "one button" chromatography with IC Cap Station 2 - Maintenance of Metrohm Ion Chromatography System Maintenance of ion chromatography hardware including "live" demonstration of changing piston seals and cleaning the check valves How to maintain separation columns including care of eluents Change over of system chemistry from anions to cations Station 3 - Voltammetry 797 VA Computrace Overview of controlling software Instrument flexibility and typical applications Agenda 9:00 Registration and Coffee 9.15- 9.30 Welcome and Introduction 9.30 - 10:15 Voltammetry - Theory and Products 10.15 Coffee 10.30 - 11.15 Ion Chromatography - Theory and Products 11:15 - 12.00 Ion Chromatography - Column Flexibility and Applications 12.00 - 12.45 Lunch Split into three groups and rotate through the practical workshops 12:45 - 14.15 Workshops x 3 (30 minute slots) 14.15 Open Forum and Close Poster Session Also on show will be a selection of technical articles published by Metrohm on a variety of applications.
