Sophisticated liquid handling in the QA Lab

The new 846 Dosing Interface and the 800 Dosino can make basic liquid handling operations simple and easy.

The new 846 Dosing Interface and the 800 Dosino turn the basic liquid handling operations into child's play.

The Dosing Interface is a USB-compatible control unit for up to four dosing elements.

Thanks to the unrestricted programming of the dosing elements any liquid handling operation can be performed automatically and accurately with the 846 Dosing Interface- in the range from 10ul to 100 Ml.

The application spectrum covers both simple dosing tasks and highly complex ones.

In addition to the improved dosing accuracy, such am automated setup offers various other advantages compared with manual liquid handling.

Press-button sample preparation reduces manual work to a minimum, resulting in considerable savings in time.

Reagent consumption is also reduced, which means less waste and therefore lower waste disposal costs.

The dosing results no longer depend on the dexterity of the user.

No matter whether a laboratory technician or an unskilled worker prepares a dilution series, the concentration will be correct.

The 846 Dosing Interface and 800 Dosinos make it possible to configure fully automated dosing systems.

In the combination with a Metrohm Sample Processor such a system allows many different sample preparation steps to be carried out in a short time.

The 846 Dosing Interface cab be controlled either with a 840 Touch Control, as a stand alone system, or via a PC.

Control by PC offers two possibilities, namely the use of the new "tiamo" software or the PC Control Software.

The USB-compatible 846 Dosing Interface also fits perfectly into existing Titrandos titrators and automation systems, which can thus be equipped with additional dosing elements.

The 846 Dosing Interface has four MSB ports allowing the control of four 800 Dosinos (MSB = Metrohm Serial Bus).

If several Dosing Interfaces are user then the number of dosing elements increases accordingly.

Up to three 846 Dosing Interfaces can be linked in a daisy chain configuration, i.e one Touch Control can manage up to 12 Dosinos.

The "tiamo" software even allows the control of 127 Dosing interfaces, which translates into 508 dosing elements operated in parallel.

This means that setups ranging from a single workstation or a pump, to a completely automated dosing system can be configured without any restrictions.

Dosinos can be connected to the MSB ports of the 846 Dosing Interface and it is also possible to control stirrers, Dosimats and other MSB-equipment devices.

No matter what type of operation one decides to use, Touch Control, PC Control or "tiamo", the requirement of FDA Regulations 21 CFR Part 11 can be fulfilled with each.

All three operating elements have the required user administration system, electronic signatures and the audit trail.

Documentation in accordance with GLP and GMP is also no problem as one may connect a balance and a printer to the dosing interface.
