High speed processes demand Ammonia levels in Ammoniated Liquor to be at specification levels so as to maintain the delicate chemical balance; under- or overshoot will cause major process upsets.

"High speed processes demand Ammonia levels in Ammoniated Liquor to be at specification levels so as to maintain the delicate chemical balance; under- or overshoot will cause major process upsets".

The continuous information on the accurate concentration of ammonia in ammoniated liquor is of vital importance to the economic operation of the plant.

Hence the requirement for the plant operators to have this information available frequently will enable them to stay in close contact with the process and run the production plant at optimum efficiency.

Attempts have been made to have this analysis done by spectrophotometric methodologies in the NIR region but there was insufficient accuracy, as well as lack of validity of the results.

The only method, giving the right accuracy, still was titration, but the route via the lab was too time consuming. The best possible option next was to have an analytical system which could run the analysis on-line, while utilising the titration method.

This is a realistic option with the Applikon Process Analyzer ADI 2040, which offers a variety of titration methods.

Titration is one of the rare absolute methods, which is available to the chemist, meaning it does not require a cumbersome validation procedures, nor the retention of a sample which is suitable to serve as a reference.

The 2040 has the ability to run multiple titrations on multiple sample streams, simultaneously, and has cut reagent usage down to just 25% of that which was associated with process titrators.

With its corrosion resistant polystyrene wet part and its even more rugged components this Analyzer will last numerous years.

The ADI 2040 Process Analyzer utilizes the unique Applikon Analytical wet part module construction system meaning virtually any chemical analysis can be automated and the ADI 2040 Process Analyzer can be configured exactly as required.

The ADI 2040 Process Analyzer has a full range of I/O hardware and software for communication with external devices.

Data transmission can be carried out by digital outputs, analogue outputs or serial communication.

External devices such as valves, sample conditioning and additional sensors such as flow, pH and conductivity can be seamlessly integrated and controlled within the analyzer.

A full range of accessories including stands, lockable reagent cabinets and reagent containers are available.

Complete analyzer packages are also provided to customers requiring a full project service from a termination point.
