Voltammetric determination of
contaminants in soil
An aliquot of the digestion solution is used for the voltammetric determination with the MVA-2 system on a hanging mercury drop electrode (HMDE).
Plant roots absorb nutrients and contaminants from soil onto the cells From the roots they can be translocated into various other tissues of the plant

Determining water levels in lubricating oils
It is impoirtant to determine the presence of water in machinery lubricating oils, which is why Metrohm is offering its 831 KF Coulometer to give reliable results over a long period.
Trace levels of metals such as copper and zinc are vital to plants but high quantities of heavy metals such as copper and lead can be physiologically injurious.
Highly mobile cadmium can also easily been taken up by plants through their roots.
It can accumulate in the cereal grains.
Cereal grains can absorb lead from the air at a significant rate.
Tin present in the sample does not interfere with the determination of lead.

The heart of this analysis system is a 797 VA Computrace enriched with the unbeatable Dosino technique for liquid handling.
For your convenience, the method and relevant parameters are already implemented in the software of Metrohm's 797 VA Computrace.
Product information MVA-2 system intended for partly automated routine analysis and consisting of the 797 VA Computrace and two 800 Dosinos.
The MVA-2 semi-automatic voltammetry system for routine trace analysis: MVA-2 is an easy-to-use partly automated VA system for routine voltammetric trace analysis.
Two auxiliary solutions (standard and electrolyte) can be added automatically into the measuring vessel.
The sample, however, is handled manually.
So, just add the sample with a pipet, press start and receive the result.
We address users who appreciate elegant and comfortable operation for an attractive price without the need to use an autosampler.
Applications for the determination of one or two parameters can be realized.
The heart of the system is the 797 VA Computrace with two 800 Dosinos attached which are used for the addition of the solution.
The Dosinos are of course completely controlled by the 797 VA Computrace.
One additional 800 Dosino can be attached directly, 4 additonal ones by means of the 846 Dosing Interface.
Thus a maximum number of 7 Dosinos can be used. Request a free brochure from Metrohm UK ...
