Titrator sends info to process control systems

A Metrohm UK product story

An at line analyser automatically analyses plating baths for content, such as copper, nickel and zinc, as well as baths used for cleaning and degreasing.

Metrohm has introduced an at line analyser, the ProcessLab, which has an industrial PC and I/O controller, for sending analytical data to process control systems.

The system will automatically analyse plating baths for content , such as copper, nickel and zinc, as well as analysing other baths used for cleaning and degreasing.

Typical analysis for these include Cu, Ni, Zn, Cr and Pb as well as well as total acidity and alkalinity.

ProcessLab carries out all this analysis without operator intervention.

It relays results to the process controller for process changes so the system automatically regulates bath quality.

Values for bath top up are sent to the operator or topping up can be performed automatically via a computerised dosing system.

The ProcessLab follows on in the success of the titrando range of laboratory titrators from Metrohm.

The system uses well-established hardware and software, including the Titrando titrator and tiamo software.
