Micromech appointed systems integrator for robots
Motoman Robotics (UK), Banbury, has appointed specialist motion control system builder, Micromech, based in Braintree, Essex, as systems integrator for articulated-arm robots.
Starting with a wide range of aluminium profiles, their product line up goes right though to X, Y, Z gantry units.
The anodised aluminium profiles are available in lengths up to 3m, are extremely light but build up into very solid frames or tables and stands.
Fast and easy to construct they can also be supplied ready assembled.

Small payloads positioned accurately
Miniature positioning tables are only 40mm wide and designed for precision positioning of small payloads within very small work envelopes.
For machine build there is the platen profile range which is face milled on both sides making them ideal for precision clamping or as a work surface.
The extensive linear guide range is designed to be used in a wide variety of engineering applications and comes in lengths up to 6m, comprising of precision steel shafts and aluminium profiles.
The numerous styles of linear guide that have been developed over the years now meet the varied requirements of most machine builders.
There are three families of actuators, first is the LF ballscrew range where feed forces can be up to 2000N and a maximum speed of 1m/s, in lengths from 290 to 2990mm and they can be configured from one to five axes.
The next is the ZF range which uses a timing belt, it can accelerate a load mass of 20kg at 20m/s2 at speeds up to 5m/s and available as a standard in lengths up to 6m (longer as a special).
The ZF actuator uses reference switches that have a repeat accuracy of +/-0.02mm, a repeatability of 0.02mm and they maybe combined in arrangements up to three axes.
The third member of the family is the BL series; a compact belt drive actuator that is particularly useful where space is a critical factor.
They are available in lengths up to 2050mm and can be supplied with or without integrated control electronics.
The LF, ZF and BL units can all be fitted with the appropriate motors, drives and controls either stepper or servo as required.
Probably best known for their flatbed and gantry systems, Isel is a European market leader for multiple axes handling and positioning units.
Their modular systems have travels of 250 to 1250mm and the ball screw versions have an accuracy of +/-0.01mm.
These systems can also be supplied fitted with stepper or servomotors, drives and controls, in fact delivered ready to go - they just need 'plugging in'.
With a variety of options also available the systems are ideally suited for applications such as glueing, sealing, screwing, dosing, forming, modelling, automatic placement and mounting.
"The appointment of Micromech" said Horst Helmer Marketing Manager of Isel "is an important element in our growth throughout Europe and as a respected motion controls company, we believe they will be a major contributor to our success".
For Micromech, Sales Manager Darren Mackay added " we are delighted with this agreement and whether a simple mechanical component, a mechanical arrangement or a complex motion system is required, the broad range of products from Isel provide an extremely cost effective engineering solution".
