Three-axis stepper drive is cost-effective
Based upon a successful family of stepper drives, now available the latest cost- effective 3-axis model comes in a single open-frame package for machine systems builders.
Parker serves up another winner, the XLT 'triple stepper drive' that won't take a big bite out of the budget Based upon the highly successful XL family of stepper drives, now available from Micromech is the XLT-series which provides a cost- effective 3-axis stepper drive solution in a single open-frame package.
Specifically designed for the systems builder and original equipment manufactures, the XLT drive provides 3 axes of stepper drive with current ratings of 2.5A, 5.0A or 8.0A.
The drives have resolutions of 400, 800, 2000 or 4000 steps/rev and there are differential step/direction inputs, as well as individual shutdown inputs and 'fault outputs' inputs.
The drives are panel mounted for installing in a steel cabinet and each of the three axes must be same current rating (continuous current 1.8A, 3.5A or 5.6A RMS rating).
The recommended inductance range is 0.8mH to 10mH and there is motor protection over-current, short circuit, over and under voltage, and also logic supply fault.
Operating from a single DC supply, the XLT accepts industry-standard step and direction control inputs permitting use with a wide range of control systems.
By combining the drives together in a single package, a competitive product is produced (the 2.5amp version is less than GBP 100) whereby users will also save on space, as well as their wiring time and costs.
Furthermore the 2.5A and 5.0A versions can run off a single 24 to 80V power supply, making even more savings.
The XLT80 the 8.0A peak model requires a separate 24V DC supply for logic circuits due to the higher current switching levels.
