Forecasting a 20% to 30% increase in employees after a first quarter of 2004 that was "the best since 1999", a US metal etching company is expanding facilities and increasing exports.

Microphoto, with plants in Detroit and Roseville, Michigan, USA, announces the completion of a modern 3,000ft2 metal etching facility The expansion comes at a time when many U.S

companies are downsizing or sending their jobs overseas.

Instead of exporting jobs to China, Microphoto is selling U.S.

manufactured parts to the Chinese.

They also ship parts to England, Taiwan, Singapore, Canada, France, Italy and New Zealand.

Microphoto forecasts a 20% to 30% increase in employees and states that the first quarter of 2004 was the best since 1999.

The company will begin a third phase of expansion in the very near future.

Started in 1965, Microphoto is one of the oldest metal etching companies in the country.

The growth of this industry was created and fueled by the space exploration campaigns and the need for intricate low volume metal parts in the 60's.

Since then, the process also known as photo chemical machining has become common in many industries.

The major benefit with metal etching is the fantastic speed (within 24 hours) at which prototype metal parts can often be manufactured.

In addition, these parts are burr-free and stress-free with no physical or chemical changes to the metal properties.

The primary reason customers get this extraordinary next-day turnaround service is because President Rick Wade, Vice President Brian Wade and their dedicated staff make it happen.

They are nephews of Muradian, the company's founder.

They have earned a reputation for a kind of customer service that is almost unheard of.

By taking advantage of internet marketing and being responsive to customer needs, Microphoto has expanded its business.

It is adding employees, adding to its facility and shipping parts to China and the rest of the world.

With virtually no increase in sales force, their sales are up 10 to 15%.
