Morris Material Handling is transforming its service centres with a stronger presence in the South East of England.

Lifting services provider, Morris Material Handling, continues to transform its UK network of Service Centres, this time in the South East Having recently established a facility in the north of England and relocated to premises in Glasgow, the company has announced the opening of a and larger Service Centre covering London and the South East

One of 14 strategically located facilities across the UK, the South East Service Centre - conveniently situated in Rochester, Kent - will enable Morris Material Handling's Maintenance Services Division to better service an expanding customer base within what is a significantly important part of the country.

Some 20% bigger than the company's previous facility, the 2,875sq ft materials handling centre comes complete with fully equipped workshop, extensive parts storage space and on-site office accommodation.

Manned by two permanent on-site administration staff and a team of ten highly-experienced Mobile Fleet Engineers, the South East Centre will be run and operated by Centre Manager, Dave Beggs, who will work in conjunction with Morris Material Handling's Regional Manager, Cliff Hilson.

Kitted out with Morris' latest overhead crane equipment and housing a comprehensive spare parts store, the Centre will enable important repairs and bespoke modifications to be made to a diverse array of customer lifting handling equipment.

Indeed the South East Centre will support a number of key accounts, non-more so than the repair and maintenance partnering agreement that Morris Material Handling's Maintenance Services Division enjoys with RWE npower - one of the UK's largest energy generators and suppliers.

In addition to holding the repair and maintenance contract for RWE npower's on-site cranes at its Tilbury Power Station, the company also operates a rolling contract for two Kone CSUs (continuous ship unloaders) on the same site.

In order to provide 24 hour round the clock repair and maintenance coverage of the ship unloader's mechanical and electrical componentry, a team of two Morris Material Handling engineers remain permanently on-site.

Additional support will also continue to emanate from the Rochester facility.

Commenting on this latest development, Pat Campbell, Operations Director, Maintenance Services said: "Our overriding aim is to continue setting 'benchmark' standards here in the UK when it comes to the provision of maintenance and service support.

The ongoing investment that we are continuing to make in our UK Service Centre Network is testimony to this fact." Through its UK network of 14 strategically located Service Centres, Morris Maintenance Services stands as a total solutions provider, supplying clients with effective service, support, inspection and training packages that are tailored to individual needs, irrespective of industry sector.
