Cranes kept operating with best efficiency
Morris Material Handling looks after 50 overhead travelling cranes and 120 jib hoists at a mining equipment manufacturer as well as installing new cranes there.
In a total crane care fixed price maintenance contract, Morris Material Handling looks after 50 overhead travelling cranes and some 120 jib hoists at the Worcester, UK, plant of Joy Mining Machinery.
The maintenance services division of Morris Material Handling has also undertaken additional project work, including the design and installation of overhead travelling cranes.
Joy Mining Machinery's works engineer said that Morris Material Handling had been selected for its experience and competence as the UK's leading crane manufacturer.
Given the high risk activities associated with Joy's onsite cranes and jib hoists, it was essential to ensure that the lifting equipment is maintained to the highest standards and in accordance with manufacturers' maintenance schedules to ensure safe operation and optimum efficiency.
Resident Morris site engineers carry out daily safety inspections, routine planned maintenance, reactive breakdown maintenance and outside normal hour 'call outs'.
The service is reviewed to ensure that standards are maintained at optimum cost and to date Joy has been extremely satisfied with the service levels provided.
At Morris Material Handling, UK sales manager, Graham Dames, said: "Our total crane care package has been devised as a means of helping clients budget for a service in complete confidence.
Alongside the many other support packages we are able to provide clients, this particular service is proving increasingly popular".
