Chinese rod mill will produce a variety of carbon and low alloy steels with a product size range of 5.0mm to 22.0mm with a guaranteed finishing speed of 112 meters per second.
Morgan Construction Company has received a contract from Shandon Shiheng Special Steel Co in Tai'an, Shandong Province, China, to provide the rod outlet to the company's single-strand rod mill The contract calls for both design and manufacturer of the mill

Morgan Construction, through its UK subsidiary, Morgan-Europe, Sheffield, has won a contract to upgrade Fundia Nedstaal's mill in Alblasserdam, The Netherlands.
According to Mark Shore, "The contract includes the supply of an 8-stand Morgan No-Twist mill, a four-stand Reducing/Sizing Mill (RSM), pinch roll and laying head, guides and engineering for the complete rod outlet.
The basic and detailed engineering will be done at the company's Worcester headquarters with manufacturing done at Morgan's Shanghai, China, and Worcester plants.
When completed, the mill will produce a variety of carbon and low alloy steels with a product size range of 5.0mm to 22.0mm with a guaranteed finishing speed of 112 meters per second.
The mill will produce 500,000 metric tonnes per year at a rolling rate of 120 metric tonnes per hour.
Shore added that delivery is scheduled for January 2004.
