One tool does machining, reaming,
counterboring
Offering fewer operations Between classic boring, counterboring and reaming and machining the drill reamer can be applied to a variety of suitable bores.
Mega Drill Reamer from Miller means fewer operations Between classic boring, counterboring and reaming and machining with just one tool lies the discovery of the drill reamer With experience in both areas, the Miller company has developed the Mega drill reamer series and successfully introduced these onto the market

Form milling cutters offer 30% time saving
Wear-resistant PCBN form milling cutters produce such high surface qualities that the time spent for final manual polishing can be reduced by 30 to 50%.
Tool clamping cartridges fit minimal lubrication
To put minimal lubrication quantity technology into practice, many institutes and research groups have dealt with specific questions and solutions, but a tool supplier claims to show the way.
True to its name, the tool carries out both tasks.
These tools can be applied to a variety of suitable bores.
For example location bores in cylinder heads, crank cases or transmission housings.
When machining parts of this kind on transfer lines it may be possible to dispense with a complete station.
On machining centres both main time and ancillary time can be reduced accordingly.
With the Mega drill reamer from Miller, two blades are first used to machine into the solid.
Optimum blade geometry, the standard application of an MxF coating and the advantageous internal coolant system allows high machining values to be used.
Depending on the series, four or six reaming blades then ensure that the required quality is achieved.
These blades are offset to the back by relief grinding on the drilling blades and have a diameter which is approximately 0.2mm larger and which is ground precisely in line with the finished dimension.
The number of guide chamfers (circular land), which corresponds to the number of blades, and optimum design of the width of the land, guarantees the same surface finish, dimensional stability and concentricity as with reaming.
The machining values for using the Mega drill reamer correspond to those for boring operations and, subject to material and tool diameter, exceed 100m/min in cutting speed and feed rates of 0.6mm/rev.
Despite the number of blades and guide chamfers, these tools are as easy to regrind as normal drills.
The series from the standard programme are suitable for blind bores or through holes.
The Mega drill reamers are available for machining 3xD or 5xD.
