Solid carbide twist drills cut to 40xD
depth
Solid carbide deep hole twist drills cut holes up to 40D depth in steels and cast alloys and ensures safe chip clearance at maximum feds and speeds.
The Miller deep hole solid carbide twist drill drills up to 40 x diameter (D) in depth The Miller Mega-Deep-Drill range was shown at EMO 2007 and has opened up new opportunities for the particularly efficient manufacturing of deep holes in steels and cast alloys

Form milling cutters offer 30% time saving
Wear-resistant PCBN form milling cutters produce such high surface qualities that the time spent for final manual polishing can be reduced by 30 to 50%.
Tool clamping cartridges fit minimal lubrication
To put minimal lubrication quantity technology into practice, many institutes and research groups have dealt with specific questions and solutions, but a tool supplier claims to show the way.
Mega-Deep-Drill is a standard tool, informed Mapal.
This MxF coated drill, for boring depths of up to 30xD in the diameter range 3mm to 16mm, is specially designed for machining steel and cast iron.
Special tools are also possible up to boring depths of 40xD and for other workpieces and materials.
The Miller Mega-Deep-Drill offers the following advantages.
* The specially developed geometry for chip groove and front radial land for this deep hole drill allows maximum feeds and cutting speeds to be achieved and ensures safe chip clearance when manufacturing deep bores.
For the user this provides a 5-10 fold reduction in machining times compared to single-fluted deep hole drills.
* Four guide chamfers guarantee minimum deflection and a safe hold, even when breaking through cross bores.
The Miller deep hole drill can be reground and re-coated so that tool costs have a relatively low impact on production costs.
* About Miller - Mapal informed Manufacturingtalk that Miller Praezisionswerkzeuge (Precision tools) was founded in October 1991 by Helmut Miller.
Using the latest technology the company produces precision tools for boring, milling, countersinking and reaming in solid carbide and Cermet.
Miller has combined many years of knowledge and experience with motivation, flexibility and quality to guarantee solutions in cutting technology in standard and special tool manufacturing.
The company has been a member of the Mapal Group since February 2003 and operates throughout the world.
