A nonhalogenated epoxy resin system featuers outstanding flame resistance and minimal smoke generation for bonding, sealing and casting for service up to 400 deg F.

A nonhalogenated epoxy resin system featuers outstanding flame resistance and minimal smoke generation for bonding, sealing and casting for service up to 400 deg F Master Bond (Hackensack, NJ, USA) has developed a new nonhalogenated epoxy resin system called EP21HTFR-1 which offers outstanding flame resistance and minimal smoke generation even upon prolonged exposure to open flames

Based upon new proprietary in-house technology Master Bond EP21HTFR-1 is a two component epoxy resin system with a user friendly one to one mix ratio.

It cures readily at ambient or more quickly at elevated temperatures and has a service capability up to 400 deg F.

Unlike other commercially available flame retardant compounds, it does not emit any halogens as well as other noxious and/or toxic vapors even when subjected to open flames for prolonged time periods.

In addition the EP21HTFR-1 is UL 94V.0 pending.

Master Bond Polymer System EP21HTFR-1 is designed for bonding, sealing and casting applications and can be applied by all conventional methods.

A lower viscosity version called EP21HTFR-1LV is available to facilitate casting uses.

The cured EP21HTFR-1 exhibits remarkably high physical strength properties as well as superior resistance to mechanical shock and vibration.

Electrical insulation properties are excellent.

Master Bond EP21HTFR-1 has superior chemical resistance to water, salt solutions, fuels and many other organic as well as inorganic chemicals even after long exposure periods.

The service temperature range is an impressive -65 deg F to +400 deg F.

EP21HTFR-1s flame resistant capability to withstand exposure to open flames with minimal smoke and/or generation of noxious and/or toxic gases makes it the preferred choice for critical aerospace, electronic and industrial assemblies where the flammability potential in service must be minimized and product safety is a primary consideration.
