* A National Network of Centres of Expertise in Manufacturing drawn from a wide range of organisations that benefit businesses involved in manufacturing providing a broad manufacturing knowledge base * The MAS website providing links to the nine Regional (RCME) established in England, and the specialised support offered by the growing national network of Centres of Expertise in Manufacturing (CEMs).
They include technology institutes, specialised university centres, trade associations and training bodies.
Users who register with the site can request support from their local RCME or identify the most appropriate CEM to assist them.
Many small and medium-sized firms across the UK can now make their first contact with this new GBP 15m MAS manufacturing support network by logging onto the fully dynamic web site www.dti.gov.uk/manufacturing/mas Small and Medium Size (SME) Manufacturing Businesses will be able to obtain free telephone support, information and one day diagnostic help through their local Regional RCME.
More detailed consultancy and implementation support can also be provided with part funding from the Programme.
