After an extremely successful trial period, a leading garden products manufacturer is using an automatic machine to apply 6-8 straps to 700 packaged units/day.

Strapping equipment supplier Mosca Direct has installed its market leading ROMP-4 automatic strapping machine for a leading garden products manufacturer, after an extremely successful trial period Halls Garden Products is the market leader in hobby greenhouse frames and accessories, supplying to the UK and European markets

The company has a high-volume throughput of around 700 units per day, each unit requiring six to eight straps.

Halls acquired a Mosca ROMP-4 on a trial basis.

It proved so successful that Halls has bought the machine permanently.

"We initially trialled the Mosca ROMP-4 strapping machine last year, and the production team rated it so highly, they practically nailed it to the floor," commented Paul Firmin, operations manager.

"We needed reliability and speed, and the Mosca ROMP4 fulfils both criteria," he adds.

The Mosca ROMP-4 features Mosca's pioneering brushless motors, direct drive technology.

This has eliminated the use of gearboxes and clutches and reduced the need for pulleys and chains.

Minimising the number of moving parts ensures excellent long-term reliability and provides improved performance and increased speed across a wide range of applications.

The machine allows speeds up to 60 straps per minute depending on arch size, with strap widths of 5-12mm available.

Mosca equipment is available in the UK from its wholly owned subsidiary Mosca Direct of Cotgrave, Nottingham.
