Wide strapping machine packs all products
In a bespoke solution for a leading furniture manufacturer a wide strapping machine gives the company the flexibility to strap its full range of products.
Dedication to providing a high standard of service and exceptional quality of product has enabled Sheard to understand the needs of this fast-paced industry in which they have been a prominent figure for many years.
With increased productivity Sheard sought another pallet strapper.
"Our key criteria were cost, speed, reliability and - especially - quality of service," commented operations manager Lee Shackleton.
"After investigating the strapping market, the Mosca name kept coming up as a favourable manufacturer." Sheard Packaging was impressed by the functionality of Mosca's machinery and its commitment to engineering support.
The company purchased a KCK 121-26 pallet press with an integrated turn-cross for four-way strapping and a programmable compression ratio.
With two KSR friction weld sealing heads with extended seal for improved joint strength and two lances for feeding the strap through the pallet void, the KCK 121-26 has a 2.6m wide arch and can strap pallets in excess of 2.0m wide.
It is capable of speeds up to 120 pallets/h for two parallel straps, or 60 pallets/h for four way cross-strapping.
"Since installation, the Mosca pallet press has proved its quality and we are happy to have it on our production line," confirmed Shackleton.
With a large portfolio of clients Sheard provides quality corrugated packaging and point of sale units to exacting ISO standards with a fast turnaround, making them one of the North of England's leading packaging manufacturers.
Sheard offers a large and small quantity bespoke die-cuts and RSC's, heavily promoting the use of recycled materials.
Quality flexographic, silk-screen and litho-laminate print are offered and off the shelf cartons and recycled containers in stock sizes are also a speciality.
Mosca equipment is available in the UK from its wholly owned subsidiary Mosca Direct of Cotgrave, Nottingham.
