MS Production chooses Topsolid
Topsolid chosen as preferred solution after competitive event
On 21-22 October 2004, the French CAD/CAM magazine Harvest hosted an event (named "Jugez sur Pieces") where 5 major CAD editors designed a special machine in 3D The editors who participated in this event were PTC, UGS, Autodesk, SolidWorks and Missler Software's TopSolid

Following the event the special machine designer opted for the 3D integrated TopSolid solution.
Editors were presented with the 2D plans of the machine approximately 4 weeks before the event.
Each editor subsequently presented his 3D design to visitors(who choose the editor's presentation he wanted to see or each presentation if he so desired.) The machine in question involved the design of over 300 parts which represented a substantial workload for the parties involved.
The aim of the event was not to select which editor's 3D design was the best.
It was, however, meant to give interested visitors an opportunity to view the work of 5 major CAD editors who worked on a project based on the same 2D plans and with the same time frame.
MS Productions, the company who provided the 2D plans of the special machine it had designed 5 years previously, decided to use this event as an opportunity to consider which 3D CAD solution would best fulfil its needs.
Thanks to the hard work carried out by Missler Software together with the 3D design developed, the company has chosen TopSolid as its future 3D CAD system.
According to Mr Berthet, head of the company's Design Department "Our choice was simple.
TopSolid was the only software capable of recovering and allowing us to sufficiently rework Catia files.
As this is central to what we do our decision was easy." TopSolid is a fully integrated software solution linking design and manufacturing.
Kinematics, structural calculation, sheet metal processing and mechanical components form an integral part of the software and improve efficiency in the design process.
