Mason Pinder introduces automated assembly and handling solutions

The team will support Mason Pinder's established injection mould tool services in the packaging sector, and also provide complete process engineering solutions, from raw material logistics through assembly to finished goods Mason Pinder's automation engineering team covers material delivery systems, automated component extraction from tools, limited sub-assembly, and other processes such as multi-shot and in tool assembly, and related consultancy services across a number of sectors which include packaging, caps and closures and container assembly

"We see this as a critical service for injection moulders at all levels," said Mason Pinder managing director Ken Barrass.

"It will enable them to cut costs, streamline their flowlines and reduce labour content".

"UK moulders in the packaging sector are under great pressure".

"We have developed many automated systems to support our major injection mould tools customers, and now offer this expertise to the entire market".

"Our team provides a set of automation process skills that all moulders can use to improve their production processes." The team at Doncaster has substantial experience of high volume production in three main areas: pick and place automated/robotic systems, materials handling and process mapping, and downstream assembly.

Ken Barrass, managing director, said, "UK moulders still have a heavy investment in labour-intensive production processes".

"Mason Pinder's expertise helps them to produce more with the same labour force, or allows semi-skilled staff to be redeployed to carry out more responsible tasks".

"Whichever choice is made, our automation, logistics and flowline expertise will help moulders to reduce both total and unit costs of production.".
