4Sight-II now runs Windows XP Embedded

Matrox Imaging is pleased to announce that its Matrox 4Sight-II integrated industrial vision computer is now available pre-installed and pre-configured with the Windows XP Embedded operating system.

Matrox Imaging is pleased to announce that its Matrox 4Sight-II integrated industrial vision computer is now available pre-installed and pre-configured with the Windows XP Embedded operating system "Windows XP Embedded allows OEMs to deploy highly customised, feature-rich embedded applications with a reduced footprint and a high level of reliability and performance," says Fabio Perelli, Product Manager for Frame Grabbers and Stand-alone Systems for Matrox Imaging

Windows XP Embedded, a componentised version of Windows XP Professional, is under the umbrella of Microsoft's embedded operating systems that are designed for custom embedded applications running on non-desktop computers/devices, such as industrial controllers, medical monitors, and specialised imaging platforms.

Running Windows XP Embedded on Matrox 4Sight-II has a number of advantages over other operating systems, including the same user interface as Windows XP and most of its professional features: platform development tools; easier and faster redistribution; reduced footprint; and above all, lower costs.

Windows XP Embedded also includes a write filter, which permits a smooth recovery after unexpected power downs.

Matrox 4Sight-II offers a pre-configured, pre-installed, tested and validated Windows XP Embedded imaging platform.

Matrox Imaging also provides the developer/OEM the required configuration files to generate custom Matrox Imaging Library (MIL)/Windows XP Embedded images for their target systems. Request a free brochure from Matrox Imaging ...
