Remote head versions of Iris P-Series

Matrox Iris P-Series smart camera family available in remote head versions

Matrox Imaging announced that the Matrox Iris P-Series family of programmable smart cameras is available in remote head configurations This two-piece design, by way of MDR26 connectors, uses a standard Camera Link cable to connect a remote head to a processor unit

"The compactness of the remote head allows it to easily fit into small spaces and offers a lot of flexibility when mounting it to your equipment," explains Fabio Perelli, Product Manager for Matrox Imaging.

The Matrox Iris P-Series family is powered by an Ultra Low Power (ULP) Celeron, an embedded Intel architecture processor.

It runs the Windows CE .NET real-time operating system and is programmed using Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++.

OEMs and integrators can develop their applications with the Matrox Imaging Library (MIL), the industry's ultimate toolbox for image processing solutions, and run them directly on Matrox Iris P-Series.

The Matrox Iris P-Series are smart cameras that support the flexibility of PC-based machine vision systems, and are the first Matrox products of its kind to feature hardware for image sensing as well as a software API (application programming interface) for image analysis.

Matrox Iris P-Series camera family is fully programmable and can be customised by OEM and integrators for vertical markets such as automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical, robotics, surveillance and traffic control.

Matrox Iris P-series remote head versions will begin shipping in Q3 2005. Request a free brochure from Matrox Imaging ...
