Metabo's new multi hammers allow users to switch from drilling, percussion drilling, or no-rotation percussion (hammer) operations with a single tool

Metabo Corporation has released a datasheet on the company's new line of versatile, powerful rotary hammers The UHE22 and UHE28 multi hammers allow users to switch from drilling, percussion drilling, or no-rotation percussion (hammer) operations with a single tool

Outlined in the new datasheet is the tool's wide range of applications, which includes drilling a clean hole in steel or wood, drilling anchor holes in concrete or brick, or chiseling concrete or brick.

The literature also describes how users can easily activate the percussion stop to permit ordinary drilling and the rotation stop to permit chiseling.

The electronic controls discussed in the datasheet range from Variospeed control to winding temperature monitors that signal the warning of an impending overload to Metabo's S-automatic safety clutch and winding protection grid that increases the life of the motor up to 5 times.

Tool specifications in the datasheet include the UHE22's 0-1050/0-2900 rpm no-load speeds; 133 inch lbs of torque; 0 to 2.2 joules per blow; and drilling capacity of 7/8" in concrete using solid bits as well as the UHE28's 0-950/0-2600 rpm no-load speeds; 195 inch lbs of torque; 0 to 2.4 joules per blow, and drilling capacity of 1-1/8" in concrete using solid bits.

The datasheet also lists the multi hammers' standard features such as a quick-change chuck that allows bit changes without the use of tools, a carrying case, a side handle, an SDS-Plus bit holder, and a depth gauge.
