A rotary hammer with a new pistol grip design and a 5.2A motor provides increased operator comfort and more efficient drilling in a wide variety of materials, from wood to stone.

Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for industrial, construction and welding applications, has introduced a rotary hammer with a new pistol grip design and a 5.2A motor, providing increased operator comfort and more efficient drilling.

The new BHE22 rotary hammer is ideal for through-drilling and anchor setting in a variety of materials, including wood, steel, concrete, and stone, as well as for many general construction applications.

Designed to increase both drilling efficiency and operator comfort, the new BHE22 provides a quick-change three-jawed keyless chuck system that allows the operator to rapidly install accessories for drilling into non-masonry materials.

The new tool also incorporates a 360deg adjustable, rubber-coated side handle giving the operator greater control and comfort while operating the new rotary hammer.

The BHE22 features a large knob that enables the operator to quickly change from percussion with rotation drilling to rotation only, even when the operator is wearing gloves.

A gooseneck steel depth gauge provides increased drilling depth accuracy when setting anchors.

The BHE22 features variable speed and a reverse feature for efficient drilling into a wide range of materials.

The new BHE22 was also designed for extended tool life.

It features a winding protection grid that deflects airborne debris, increasing motor life by up to five times in dusty environments.

The new rotary hammer's S-automatic safety clutch helps to protect both the tool and the operator if a bit should jam, and the die cast aluminum gear box rapidly dissipates heat, further increasing tool life.

The new BHE22 features force of blows of 0-2.1 joules at 0-4,600 blows per minute, and no-load RPM of 1-1,000.

The tool's drilling capacity is 7/8in in concrete, 1-3/16in in wood, and 1/2in in steel.

The rotary hammer features Variospeed electronic speed control to maintain maximum productivity under load.
