Cutting-wheels matched to specific applications

A Metabo product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Jun 9, 2009

Metabo is offering its Choice Cuts line of thin cutting-wheels matched to specific applications.

The Choice Cuts line features four wheel-types with a wider selection of job-matched premium abrasive grains and engineered resin-bond formulas to provide optimum cutting speeds and wheel life.

The Original Slicers are 0.040in-thick (1.016mm) economical cutting wheels.

They are ideal for cutting steel and ferrous metals such as smaller-diameter rods, rebar and angle iron.

They are made of aluminium-oxide and have the necessary flexibility for flush cutting.

The Original Slicer wheels are engineered for extended-life cutting of thin-wall steel and stainless-steel sheet-metal as well as thin-wall pipe and tube.

Slicer-Plus high-performance cutting wheels are 0.045in thick and can perform aggressive cool-cutting on all metals.

Specially coated aluminium-oxide blended grains and a proprietary resin bond create wheels ideal for the toughest applications, including thicker sectional cuts in steels, stainless steels, heavy rebar, harder metals, heavy wall pipe and angle iron.

Choice Cuts' Super-Slicer extreme-performance cutting-wheels are 0.045in thick and feature high-performance abrasive grain for optimum life and cutting speed.

This makes the Super-Slicers ideal for extreme applications such as thicker stainless steels, high-tensile alloys, inconels, chromes, hastalloys and other extremely hard metals.

All wheels in the Choice Cuts line are available in 4.5 x 0.875in and 6 x 0.875in diameters.

Both the Original Slicer and Slicer-Plus are available in Type 1 and Type 27 versions, while the Super-Slicer wheels are offered as Type 1 cutting wheels.

Each features two full-layers of high-strength fibreglass for added user safety.
