The specific equipment chosen was selected to meet our weighing range and accuracy requirements." The ID7 BasePac terminal provides reliable weighing data and trouble-free operation.
Constructed from stainless steel, it is tough but sensitive even in hazardous areas.
Ideal for use in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, its IP68 protection against dust and water ingress make it particularly suitable for harsh environments - meeting L'Oreal's requirements.
The terminal, available in bench, wall or panel mount, offers a wide variety of applications using integral software 'Pacs' to extend the basic weighing functions into areas such as counting, formulation, dispensing, totalling or checkweighing.
The new equipment is used to pre-weigh raw materials and is linked to a manufacturing software system.
"The weighing equipment is used in a new state-of-the-art weighing area to weigh the specific raw materials in the exact amounts required for our manufacturing processes" says Anup.
"The equipment is integrated fully into three laminar down flow booths providing operators full protection from raw materials during weighing processes." L'Oreal also required scale bases and the MultiRange was suggested as the best option.
This range of scales provides rugged high quality construction and with accuracy matched to the weighing task and size of load, and a wide choice of weighing ranges, the KA15, KB60 and KE1500 bench scales met the specified criteria.
The scales have polished surfaces to meet the strictest hygiene requirements and the rigid frame construction guarantees long-lasting precision and ensures high load capacity.
The precision measuring cell is protected against the ingress of dust and water to IP67.
As well as the scales and terminal, the company also required a precision balance.
The PG203-S provides highly reproducible weighing results thanks to Fact (Fully Automatic Calibration Technology) - the balance adjusts itself, using the built-in weights, whenever ambient conditions change.
The robust, chemical-resistant housing and the MonoBloc weighing cell effectively protect the balance against hard shocks and spilt samples while the software allows for full recording of the procedure to GLP standards.
The installation has increased production capability and productivity adds Anup: "some of the equipment was ordered in slightly different mounting formats when compared to a similar installation on site (eg panel mount for the ID7 indicators compared with desk mount) in order to optimise the ergonomic layout of the equipment within the booths and to integrate it more efficiently.
