Metrology products on paper and online
Mitutoyo (UK) has released its new 2003 product catalogue in both printed format and online.
The QVA builds upon Mitutoyo's extensive Quick Vision range with these latest models having the added advantage of being more compact and requiring less installation space.
This is a result of the moving bridge structure rather than the moving table design of previous QV systems.
The moving bridge structure also allows a simpler design of workplace fixture, resulting in a significant reduction in the man hours needed for fixture fabrication and inspection.
In performance terms, QVAs' primary benefits are speed, accuracy and repeatability.
X and Y axes are driven at 400mm/second, around twice the speed of previous QVs.
An accuracy of U1xy = (2.2 +3L/1000 micron) and an on-screen repeatability of 3s = 0.2 micron is guaranteed for the short dimension and repeatability, involving stage movement, is 3s = 0.5 micron for the long dimension.
Highly stable and reliable measurement is therefore assured.
Laser Auto-Focus, which provides high speed height measurement, is a key new feature.
It ensures stable and quick measurement of height during fast movements.
Using a technique described as TTL (Through the Lens) focus, even a small workpiece area can be brought into focus.
A visible light laser beam allows the measuring point to be easily checked.
An essential complementary component of the QVA is the associated QV Pak software.
The multi-function package contributes to the reliability of the QVA's image detection capability. Request a free brochure from Mitutoyo (UK) ...
