Commenting on Ovenden's appointment, Donald Lyon, Monitran's Managing Director, says: "A new Monitran is coming to market and we're delighted to have Neill join us.
He's a qualified engineer, has worked with the biggest names in their respective fields and is the ideal man to manage the sales and marketing of our products and services." With several Monitran products scheduled for launch during the coming months, Ovenden will be responsible for raising the company's profile in wider existing markets (such as industrial process monitoring) and taking the company to newer markets, such as RandD and general testing.
He will also be responsible for the global growth of Monitran.
"Monitran has been in the vibration business for over twenty years, during which time it has justly earned its reputation for quality, reliability and cost-effective solutions.
I therefore have an extremely good starting point from which to drive Monitran forward." Ovenden's short-term goals include the development of closer working relations with existing customers and the presentation of a new public image to reflect changes within Monitran.
His longer-term goals include the development of new worldwide relations, and the positioning of Monitran as the premier supplier into all vibration-related industries and sectors.
"Throughout my working life, I've made use of my engineering experience in RandD, vibration analysis and environmental testing to enable me to understand the customers' needs.
This is something I plan to build on for Monitran where my technical understanding will also enable me to take an active role in product development." Lyon concludes: "Neill joins a recently appointed team of engineering and operations managers, and is a valuable addition to the new Monitran.
He will take us from being an OEM of products to being a top-quality, customer-facing provider of vibration and displacement monitoring solutions.".
