Using a standard Murex Saffire 5 blowpipe, heating with propane can be achieved with the addition of a heavy duty propane mixer, a bent neck for propane and the correct propane nozzle.
There is a range available which provides different flame sizes and heat outputs.
The neck screws hand tight on to the mixer and the super heating nozzles are hand tightened in the neck.
For intense, focussed heat, the Saffire 5 blowpipe should be used in conjunction with the correct AHT acetylene heating nozzle.
These are available in three sizes for the flows of 24, 50 and 100ft3 of gas.
With the addition of the super heating adaptor, standard Saffire NM 250 and NM 400 cutters can also be used for heating with propane by using the correct heating nozzle.
The adaptor is seated in the head of the cutter and retained with the standard nozzle nut.
The super heating nozzle is screwed hand tight to the end of the adaptor.
The cutter is then adjusted and operated.
The Saffire DH 3 blowpipe can be used to heat with acetylene by using a special neck and tip assembly.
The neck screws into the standard mixer and employs an AHT pepper pot type nozzle.
A range of Saffire special nozzles is also available for applications such as cutting off rivet heads, material cleaning as well as cleaning concrete and marble floors. Request a free brochure from Murex Welding Products ...
