Avoid hazards when gas welding or
cutting
Flashback arrestors, to prevent 'flashbacks' hazards when using oxy-fuel gas welding or cutting equipment, are now multi-function devices to maximise operator protection.

Murex offers two types of Saffire Flashback Arrestors.
These are multi functional devices and offer full protection for the operator.
Saffire 36ec meets with the requirements of standard EN730 and offers comprehensive protection.
It has a pressure sensitive cut-off.
It can be used with acetylene, propane, oxygen and hydrogen gases.
The Saffire 36ec is HSE and BAM approved and its quality is managed according to ISO 9000.
Murex also offers a a cylindrical flashback arrestor called the Saffire XL Flashback Arrestor.
This arrestor provides a high flow rate.
Internally, the XL is equipped with a large cylindrical flame-arresting element as well as an automatic reset device, a non-return valve and an automatic cut-off that is heat sensitive.
Note that the well respected BCGA Code of Practice 7 was revised and re-issued for 2005.
The code suggests two levels of user protection, as follows.
* Minimum - using thermal type cut off devices like the XL product.
* BCGA recommended - using pressure sensitive devices such as the 36ec product.
This advice is generally accepted as correct for the safest operation, said Murex. Request a free brochure from Murex Welding Products ...
