AC/DC TIG welders are impact resistant

A Murex Welding Products product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Aug 1, 2008

The latest Murex Tradestig AC 220 and AC 220a TIG AC/DC welding machines are compact, of light weight and impact resistant with a polymer and aluminium casing.

The Tradestig AC 220 and AC 220a AC/DC TIG welding machines from Murex Welding Products are compact and impact resistant with a polymer and aluminium casing.

Murex said that they are light and easy to carry, are built in accordance with IP23, and can be used indoors and outdoors.

Murex said that the welding machines' durable design and the superior welding performance will give the welding operative a machine that can be consistently relied on.

* Power factor correction - a key feature is the power factor correction (PFC) makes it possible to use the full range of the machine on a 16A fuse.

The PFC also protects the machine against fluctuating mains voltage and makes it safer to use with a generator.

In AC and DC mode these TIG welding machines will give an excellent arc strike and consistent, stable arc.

All types of material and thickness up to 5mm can be welded with the highest quality.

Two easy to use control panels are available with the necessary functions for DC TIG, AC/DC TIG and MMA (manual metal arc or 'stick') welding.

* Stable arc - Murex told manufacturingtalk that one of the most important tasks of an AC TIG Welding machine is to provide a stable arc.

The QWave function optimises the AC wave form to give a smooth arc and at the same time the lowest possible noise without compromising the weld result.

This machine also has True AC rating where the actual welding current is always equal to the set current.

With the introduction of new Murex Tradestig portable welding units, Murex said that welding craftsman will have the optimum solution for a wide range of TIG AC/DC welding applications.

Applications include repair and maintenance functions, general light fabrication and civil construction, process industry, shipbuilding and offshore, transport and mobile machinery markets.
